Green beans are one of my favorite vegetables. Unfortunately, the season for green beans is already over, but we can always use frozen ones. An easy way to prepare frozen green beans is to roast them with your favorite spices and olive oil. In my opinion, they taste much better than boiled in water or steamed. If we buy pre-cut or very thin green beans, we should lower the temperature or reduce the roasting time.
Roasted Green Beans
300g frozen green beans
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon dried onion
1/4 teaspoon dried garlic
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
salt
Preheat the oven to 200°C, convection mode, baking sheet on the middle rack.
Transfer the green beans to a bowl, add the olive oil and all the spices.
Mix everything thoroughly so that all the beans are coated with the spices and oil.
Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the green beans on it.
Roast for 15 to 20 minutes. The roasting time depends on the oven and the size of the pods.
Stir every 5 minutes and check that they’re not burning too much.
We can eat the roasted green beans warm as a side dish to a main course or as a standalone snack.
They also taste good cold, for example as an addition to salads.
Enjoy!
